Manucci’s has a loyal following. After nine years in Montauk and three locations, this local mainstay has found a bigger, better home planted by the docks at the end of West Lake Drive and Flamingo. Only a few hundred yards from their previous location, Manucci’s now offers seating on the patio, in the dining room and bistro style in the bar room, all year long.
Dropping in for dinner on a Sunday evening with prime seating in the bar room, we observed the steady stream of incoming guests creating a buzz throughout this traditional Italian eatery. Manucci’s menu is succinct, hearty and well-chosen to accommodate carnivores, vegetarians, picky eaters and those with adventurous palates. The calamari is light and crisp without wilting once dipped in marinara sauce, and to our delight it is also offered sautéed with pancetta, sundried tomatoes and spinach. The Lobster Ravioli is a winner, coated lightly in a lemon butter basil reduction and paired nicely with tender lobster meat tucked neatly inside. A special that evening, the Grilled Yellow Fin Tuna flanked by bold green asparagus and smashed potatoes was admirable, and will hopefully find its way to becoming a regular on the menu.
Other standouts include the local Tilefish Pomodoro coupled with a seafood risotto, tender filet mignon and fresh steamed lobster. The variety of pastas are available each night are also showcased on Monday’s for “Pasta Night,” including Farfalle with Shrimp Scampi, Rigatoni with Sausage, Lasagna, and Linguini with red or white clam sauce. The New York style cheesecake, Mini Cannolis, Tartufo and Ice Cream or Sorbet selection are bona-fide temptations to round out the meal.
The nightlife is not lost on Manucci’s; each Wednesday features Karaoke with the celebrated duo, Jim and Nanci, and every Sunday from 9pm to 1am a different band performs from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. A Late Night Bar Menu featuring thin crust brick oven pizza, Philly Cheese Steaks, as well as Burger and Tuna Sliders, are available until midnight. A Children’s Menu and Catering Menu are also available, and during the “off-season” Manucci’s caters to Locals by offering a Sunday “Local Night” with special dishes and pastas. On Sundays you can also sample the buffet breakfast complete with carving station, omelets, French toast, waffles and pancakes. With all that Manucci’s has to offer, it is no surprise that their following and size is expanding.
