Delightful Outdoor Entertainment
It was another lovely summer evening of fine entertainment on the grounds of the Gosman Restaurant complex by the Montauk harbor. Every Sunday, now through August 27, a series of free concerts are held. The public is welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax and enjoy the musical offerings on the lawn by the gazebo. Often guests arrive early and dine at one of the many fine restaurants on the grounds or shop at the lovely gift and novelty shops there. Visitors can purchase food or snacks from the take-out stands and enjoy their selections while watching the show.
The evening we were there, Ms Rhonda Denet was the singer on stage performing for the audience before her. With her three backup musicians it was billed as Sunday Jazz at Gosman’s Dock. Ms. Denet’s redentions of both mellow and upbeat old time favorites were a delight to the listeners that gathered that night. Highlights she performed that evening were: I Heard it from the Grapevine, My Guy, Groovin’, This will be Everlasting Love, Dancing in the Streets and so many others, filling up the two hour concert with fantastic selections. One of my favorites At Last, the Etta James classic, had the audience enthusiastically applauding once again at its end. It was a wonderful night of musical entertainment! Come out and enjoy the rest of the summer lineup!
