The inaugural Beacon of Hope 5k Run/Walk was a wonderfully uplifting benefit for the Coalition for Women’s Cancers and Lucia’s Angels. Over 300 participants, inclusive of cancer survivors and their families, were lined up in perfect weather at the National Historic Landmark Montauk Point Lighthouse on Saturday, June 18th for the event. Dr. James Brady of Southampton Hospital was honored for his continuous support of the two groups. The estimated $20,000 proceeds from the benefit were directed to the two women’s cancer charities. These two women’s cancers charities are vital in their support of women battling cancers on Eastern Long Island. A well done to EventPower for producing this amazing event.
