SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS
The old Montauk is baacckkk! The town is much quieter and most of the snowbirds have flown back to their winter homes in Florida, or in the Carolinas. The locals can now make a left from their driveways instead of only being able to turn right and another right, just to avoid oncoming, westbound cars.
September birthdays were celebrated by volunteer Chrissy Herbert, Iris Schneider, MaryJo Fiorisi and Las Vegas bound, Thomas Farr. Happy Birthday to you all, and many, many, more.
Good news! We now have a chair yoga instructor Leah who comes to the Center on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30am to 11:30am. Her soothing voice during meditation made me so relaxed that I zoned out and Aster had to wake me. Also, bus transportation is now provided daily, except on Wednesdays. This should make some seniors happy so they don’t have to drive. Wednesday is Mahjong, Thursday is Bingo and Friday is domino day.
If you are 60 and over, and you would like to be served a well-balanced meal, on china with real silverware, just pay $3.00 at the door. Kindly call at least 24 hours in advance to reserve a seat so the chef will know how much to prepare. The hours are 11am – 2pm, Monday through Friday. For more info, kindly contact Executive Director, Therese Jarmain at 631-668-1023 or e-mail her at mtksenctr@gmail.com.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We have so much to be thankful for here in Montauk.
