The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) held their 30th Annual Stroll to the Sea Dog Walk, a magical day for supporting the dogs and cats at ARF. This year more than six-hundred supporters rallied for the rain date of Sunday, October 8th to gather at picturesque Mulford Farm, owned by the East Hampton Historical Society, before the walk to Main Beach.
The highly anticipated event took place from 9am to 12pm and was sponsored by The One Nine Three Group with artwork featured on t-shirts from longtime ARF advocate Isaac Mizrahi. Participants brought their dogs to the farm to gather for live music with Sandy Rapp, auctions, pet contests, food, and prizes before taking the group two-mile walk to the ocean.
ARF aims to promote responsible pet ownership and awareness of ARF through the idyllic event. Donations were accepted and children under 10 were free with a registered adult, and the registration fee of $40 benefiting ARF. Guests were treated to a tote bag, free t-shirt, apples and cider from The Milk Pail, Starbucks coffee, Goldberg’s Bagels, Dressen’s Famous Donuts, and plentiful dog treats. Guests and their pets also had access to a free photo booth for pictures, and the chance to win the contest for categories such as ‘The Pooch Who Can Smooch” and “Dog / Companion Look Alike.”
Additional support for the event from The Corcoran Group, Morilee, Keurig Dr Pepper, Figo Pet Insurance, The Agency, Get Joy Food, Lexus of Southampton, and Mercedes Benz of Southampton were greatly appreciated. The ARF Van lead the walkers to the ocean and back and featured animals available for adoption.
Founded in 1974, ARF is a leading animal rescue and adoption center on Long Island, helping abandoned cats and dogs locally and in communities across the country and globally. In addition to its rescue and adoption program, ARF operates a pet food pantry, and free spay/neuter clinics for feral cats.
The ARF Adoption Center is open for visiting every day from 11 AM to 4 PM with adoptions on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11 AM – 4 PM. Or view our adoptable pets at www.arfhamptons.org.
