Spectacular is the only way to describe the 10th year of the Montauk Music Festival! Four days of music and perfect weather enticed the best crowds we’ve seen to date, to enjoy over 440 shows performed by about 100 Acts in 45 venues!
The opening party at Westlake Fish House was a perfect way to kick off the weekend. The musicians coming to town had a chance to warm up for the weekend and partygoers were treated to 20 acts, specialty sponsored cocktails, and delicious appetizers prepared by Chef Shawn at Westlake.
Following that were Friday workshops for musicians and two days of shows at the Montauk Lighthouse. Over three thousand visitors entered the gates generating about 30 thousand dollars that will help to support the National Monument’s restoration, and getting in return two days of open-air concerts with a view second to none.
It’s now Sunday night at 6pm, three hours left of the festival, headed back out but had to get this in for deadline as The Montauk Sun goes to press tonight. We are a little tired but still riding the wave. Going to hit 3 more venues & crash!
Thanks to all the great Musicians, Sponsors, Motel sponsors and the Montauk Historical Society for hosting the MMF10! These 3 pages give a little taste of the fun. I’ll recap it in the next issue and let you know what’s up next!
