Join the Montauk Artists’ Association once again for an exploration of ART as the 24th Annual Show on the Montauk Green returns on August 17-19, 2018. The Montauk Green will blossom with original and handmade fine art, created through the visions and talents of local, regional and national artisans. Know that your gracious support of this event and the artisans has made it one of Long Island’s top fine art festivals while annually providing essential support for the not-for-profit Montauk Artists’ Association.
The event opens Friday at noon. The artwork brought to Montauk by these visionary artisans transforms the Montauk Green into an outdoor gallery of art. Walk through the Green discovering incredible creations in such art mediums as painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics, mixed-media, woodworking and more. All the artists creating these pieces are present throughout the event. Enjoy the opportunity to talk with the artisans and learn how they developed their art forms. Learn how they created the specific pieces you purchase. Should you not see exactly what you desire, speak with the artists about commissioning a unique piece of original art made specifically for you!
The 24th Annual Show on the Green opens Friday August 17 at noon and is open until 6 p.m. Both Saturday and Sunday the art festival is open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.
One of the most fascinating aspects of discovering art is what you discover of yourself through the process of seeing and connecting with art. You will find it is a beautiful experience!
Discover Kerry Ezzo in Booth 69:
Kerry Ezzo is a Long Island based painter, who is currently working to taking her art to the next level. Having studied many mediums, and styles while attending university at New York’s School of Visual Arts, modern impressionism really spoke to her. Kerry is influenced by the impressionists, fauves, and, color field painters, though works to bring her own unique style and expression to her work.
Five years ago, Kerry never could have imagined the success she’s come to realize in recent years. While having had opportunities arise from showings and gallery placement, most of her greatest growth and exposure has come from the regional art festival circuit. Recently, a few of her more curious fans inspired her to start teaching classes focused on expanding the knowledge of her medium; the use of water soluble oil paints, as well as her process which entails taking the same scene and painting it five or six different ways to ensure she captures the perfect light and movement from different times of the day.
If you can be sure of one thing, it’s that whether Kerry is painting or teaching, she is genuinely dedicated to the growth of her art and feels that making the effort to appreciate life’s everyday beauty is both necessary for creative inspiration and living her life to the fullest, taking the time to look around you and wonder, without missing a single unforgettable moment. https://kerryezzo.com/
