MARCH BIRTHDAYS!
Montauk had a quick preview of summer weather these past few weeks. We are fortunate that we had the ocean breeze to cool us, unlike the brutal, uncomfortable, hot weather, felt up island. The next day, it was cold and we were back to winter coats and wind breakers again, but knowing that warm weather is just around the corner and that we will be soon be removing them, to be able to enjoy the beach and the beautiful surroundings, gives us all something to look forward to.
March birthday celebrants were Frances Carroll and Margaret (Peggy) Bresnan. Happy Birthday and may you have many more to come!
At the end of each month the young at heart’s natal day is celebrated with a huge birthday cake, courtesy of Executive Director, Therese Jarmain. It’s a wonderful feeling to be sung to and acknowledged by your peers and hard-working volunteers.
The Senior Nutrition Center, located in the Montauk Playhouse at 240 Edgemere Street, is open Mondays through Fridays from 10:30am – 2:00pm Seniors 60 years old and over, their caregivers or guests are welcome for a donation of $3.00 and is served a well-balanced meal, on real china and silverware at noon. Please call at least 24 hours in advance to reserve your meal.
Activities provided before and after lunch: Meditation with Ms. Lydia on Mondays at 1:00pm, Chair Yoga with Ms. Leah on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30am, Balance and Healing Circle with Dr. Margaret on Tuesdays, Mahjong on Wednesdays, Bingo on Thursdays and Mexican Dominoes on Fridays, at 1:00pm Please come and join this fun loving, group.
